In March 2015, the Hokuriku Shinkansen (bullet train) opened its line going from Nagano to Kanazawa, providing convenient access to the Kaga Hakusan area.
About 2 hours 55 minutes (from Tokyo to Kanazawa: about 2 hours and 30 minutes, from Kanazawa to Kaga Onsen: 23 minutes), changing from Hokuriku Shinkansen Kagayaki-go to limited express Thunderbird at Kanazawa Station.
From Nagoya
2 hours 30 minutes from JR Nagoya Station by the Super Express Shirasagi.
From Osaka
2 hours 25 minutes from JR Osaka Station by the Super Express Thunderbird.

From JR Kaga Onsen Station, buses are available to all locations in the area.
